Board Manager
The Board Manager is a specialized web-based communication and networking tool for governing boards or advisory boards of all shapes and sizes. Whether you are a member of a board of directors at a Fortune 500 company or an advisory board for a small non-profit organization, if you are looking for improved communication and information sharing or to communicate between board meetings, the Board Manager can help. Users may gain access to the directory, calendaring system or email notification of new documents, events and meetings. The system is easy to install, maintain, and integrate into the everyday life of any board member.
The Board Manager also has a green effect. Placing documents and directories online drastically eliminates the need for paper helping any company or organization maintain a commitment to improving the environment.
Each board or subcommittee is provided a home page offering news, events, or meetings specific to that group in both a list and calendar view. This allows simple and effective access to information at a glance.
The detailed Calendar View offers a three-month view of upcoming events and meetings with an option to navigate to any specific event for more detailed information.
The News section illustrates news articles related to the specific group and allows the option to expand each item for specific details, in addition to editing and deletion.
The Events section is a clickable list of the past and upcoming events for a particular group.
Resources, a unique type of content, may be uploaded in plain text, HTML or as a PDF document. Users may then create and upload this item to the board manager and add it as a resource to any meeting they choose.
Meetings are primarily used for board meetings. This allows the user to coordinate a specific meeting and notify others to attend via email with a link to specific information, as well as any resource stored in the Board Manager including data for review before the meeting.
The directory is an alphabetical list of everyone associated with the specific board or committee being viewed. It includes photographs and all pertinent information useful for any member.
Edgeworks Technology also offers an orientation center allowing users to upload documents regarding the board or committee, its goals, and member expectations in addition to any other important information that newly appointed board members may need.
In short, the Board Manager simplifies communication between all board members and provides a central online storage and communication center with which all members may interact.
Edgeworks Technology is currently developing the next version of the Board Manager for release in early 2009, adding additional features such as Outlook integration and additional email notification options.
